# What is hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT)?

 

HBOT is a **non-invasive wellness treatment** that involves breathing **high-concentration oxygen (up to 95%)** inside a **pressurized chamber**.

- - - Pressure settings range from **1.3 to 2.0 ATA (atmospheres absolute)** depending on the chamber:
            
                  - **Soft shell chambers**: 1.3–1.5 ATA
                  - **Hard shell chambers**: up to 2.0 ATA
          - Increased atmospheric pressure allows the body to **dissolve more oxygen into the blood plasma**, significantly enhancing oxygen delivery to tissues.
          - This elevated oxygen availability supports:
